Maurice Adams Jr., 8, saw an old woman trying to climb the stairs. His goal was to help her. As Morris was taking his sister and mother home from high school, he looked out the window and saw an elderly woman struggling to climb the stairs. He asked his mother, Contricia, to stop the car and let him get out and help the woman.
“Can I go out and help him up the stairs?” he asks. Said Contricia.
Riley Duncan was in the car behind them, and he was delighted to see the car parked in front of her. He then recorded a kind little boy getting out of his car to help an elderly stranger.
Morris went to the woman and asked if she could help, and she agreed. He put his hand on his back and helped her lift his footsteps.
They hugged as they reached the top of the concrete stairs, and both the older woman and Morris were smiling. He later told Morris that he was “different.”
Morris went downstairs and got into his mother’s car, and they left.
Kontorishia was happy for her son by taking steps to help an older woman who needed help.
