Dying truck driver uses final breaths to help school children after bus crash.

Jonathan Grayer was seriously injured when his rental truck collided with the back of a school bus. But instead of calling for help, he jumped out of his truck and spent the last moments of his life helping the children on the bus.

The 25-year-old crashed his truck into a bus in southeastern Georgia while stopping to drop off children. There were about ten children on the bus, and Jonathan got on the bus and provided security for the children.

Georgia State Army soldier Shane Copeland said bus surveillance camera footage showed WRCBTV lifting seats to release children trapped under the grayer.

He was hospitalized after helping bring the children to safety and later succumbed to his injuries.

Veronica and Isaiah Grayer described their son Jonathan Grayer as a man with a golden heart who “smiled at himself.”

She added: “They said that for some reason, he tore the whole seat of the bus with the child. I was like ‘Wow.'”

She said her son even tried to calm the children on the bus.

“He told a little boy that he was going to buy ice cream. And the parents said the little boy asked, ‘Where is the man who got me off the bus? Because we had to buy ice cream,” she told News4jax.com.

“When it happened, he fell and did what God said he would do to me,” said Isaiah Grayer, Jonathan’s father.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, more than a dozen students were on the bus, and who took 12 of them to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, News4jax.com reports.
